Bike and Train
The cities and villages along the Danube are mainly connected through a railway line. That makes it possible for you to come and leave by train. Inquire about the conditions for bike transportation. The train is also offers a possibility to skip certain stages of the Danube bike path if it rains. You will find more information at www.bahn.com
Agilis
In all trains of the railway company ‘Agilis’ there are special train compartments that allow the transportation of bikes.
Additional Tip: Also use the throughout ‘BikeTrains’ between Ulm and Passau at weekends and holidays (30. March – 14. October)
Bike-Express Donautal
You can find the ‘Bike Express Donautal’ between Donaueschingen and Ulm (1. May – 09. September) at Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. This train has a higher capacity for bikes. You can use a ‘Baden-Württemberg’ ticket if you own one. The bike transport does not lead to higher costs.
By Car
All cities and villages along the Danube are easily reachable by car but it makes sense to inform yourself in advance about return journey by train. A ‘bike shuttle’ could be an alternative.
