Jura trail - Stage 1
Kelheim - Bad Abbach
The first stage of the Jura trail starts in Kelheim at the Danube pier where the route leads through the old town. A small detour to the Hall of Liberation or the archaeological museum is perfect for the culture and history lovers.
In the north of the city, the trail leads uphill to the Goldberg mountain where the shady beech forests show a typical Jura landscape, followed by a wonderful view over the Danube valley with the "Devils Rock" in Bad Abbach. Afterwards, the Jura trail crosses the Danube and leads through an idyllic forest directly into the spa gardens in Bad Abbach where already emperor Karl V. knew the healing powers of the mineral springs.
